50 years of service
1967 – 1983
Our Beginnings
In 1967, McEvoy & Rowley was founded by Ron McEvoy and Ken Rowley, two ex-Hoover employees aiming to offer better service than manufacturers. Initially, they worked from their vans. By 1970, they opened their first shop on Cordwallis Road, Maidenhead, selling and servicing domestic appliances. Their slogan, “McEvoy & Rowley – your key to good service”, set the tone for decades ahead.
1983 – 2007
Expansion & Reputation
The business thrived, opening a second store in Woodley in 1983 and building a strong local reputation. In 2000, Paul Rowley became Managing Director and introduced kitchens from a small upstairs studio. By 2007, McEvoy & Rowley had become a leading name in kitchen design, opening its flagship showroom in Furze Platt, Maidenhead—soon regarded as the best in Berkshire.
2013 – 2019
New Leadership & Growth
In 2013, after Paul Rowley’s passing, Tom Davison became Managing Director, bringing fresh vision. By 2016, McEvoy & Rowley expanded into a new headquarters on St Peter’s Road. In 2019, appliance sales moved to the new HQ, uniting the appliance store and kitchen studio—now with on-site parking, a rare find on Cordwallis Road!
2021 – Present
Innovation & The Future
In 2021, Rowki was launched, allowing McEvoy & Rowley to manufacture their own kitchens. In 2022, CutMDF was introduced, offering precision-cut sheet materials. The momentum continued in 2024 with the HQ’s transformation into a Superstore. In 2025, McEvoy & Rowley proudly exhibited at the Home Building & Renovating Show, marking an exciting new chapter.
